PURPOSE:To improve wear-resistance by forming a halogen processing layer on the outer surface of a bellow portion between a large-diameter ring and a small- diameter ring. CONSTITUTION:A boot formed of a high polymer elastic body such as rubber or the like comprises a large-diameter ring 5, a small-diameter ring 4, and a bellow portion 7 disposed between the rings, wherein a halogen processing layer is formed on the outer surface of the bellow portion at least. CR is especially preferable as a high polymer elastic body which is composition material of the boot. A halogen processing layer is formed by cold dipping the boot in aqueous solution or organic solvent solution of organic halogenide or inorganic active halogenide having a functional group expressed by a rational formula : CO.XN (where X is halogen) or spraying same to the boot. |
