PURPOSE:To extend the transmission range of the optical space transmission system by providing a photodetector, an amplifier and a light emitting element. CONSTITUTION:An optical space repeater 11 is provided with the photodetector 7, the amplifier 8 and the light emitting element 9. A near infrared light 6 emitted from an optical space transmitter 1 enters the optical space repeater 11, where it is amplified and transmitted as near infrared lights 10, 12. When an optical space receiver 3 is within the arrival range of the near infrared light 12, the near infrared light 12 gives a signal to the optical space receiver 3 and when the receiver 3 is at the outside of the arrival range of the near infrared light 12, the near infrared light 10 enters an optical space repeater 14 of the next stage, where it is amplified and gives a signal as a near infrared light 13. The total transmission range is extended considerably more than the transmission range where a near infrared light is transmitted directly to the optical space receiver 3. |
