PURPOSE:The titled composition which is flexible and is excellent in processability and oil and volatilization resistances, comprising a copolymer of vinyl chloride with a specified acrylate ester compound and a plasticizer. CONSTITUTION:A reaction vessel is charged with deionized water, a suspension stabilizer (e.g., partially saponified PVA), a polymerization initiator and an acrylate ester compound of the formula (wherein R is -H or -CH3, and n is 1-6), and vinyl chloride is fed thereto after deaerating the vessel to effect radical suspension polymerization at 25-70 deg.C to obtain a vinyl chloride copolymer of an average degree of polymerization of 1,000-4,000. 100pts.wt. said copolymer is mixed with 10-200pts.wt. plasticizer (e.g., dibutyl phthalate) and, optionally, heat stabilizer, filler, lubricant, blowing agent, flame retardant, etc. USE:Leather, films, hoses, gaskets, etc. |
