PURPOSE:A basic aluminum salt is applied to tea trees, if necessary, further an alkaline substance is applied to increase the total production of tea leaves, especially the yield of first pick of tea. CONSTITUTION:A basic aluminum salt with a basicity (calculated as m/3nX 100%) of 30-80% represented by Aln(OH)mXx (X is ion) is applied to tea trees, if necessary, further, an alkaline substance is applied to effect cultivation of tea trees. As basic aluminum salts, are mentioned basec sulfate, basic aluminum chloride or basic aluminum nitrate and the amount of application is preferably 50-500kg/10a as Al2O3. As the alkaline substance, hydroxide or carbonate of alkali or alkaline earth metals are cited and the application amount is preferably 50-100kg/10a. The timing of application is preferably within 1 week after application of the basic aluminum salt.
