PHOTOSENSITIVE SILVER HALIDE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To improve the stability of a latent image and to reduce a change of the sensitivity or gradation by forming one or more layers each contg. a specified silver halide emulsion and a sensitizing dye represented by a specified general formula on a base. CONSTITUTION:At least one layer contg. a silver halide emulsion is formed on a base. Silver halide particles accounting for >=50% of the total projection area of all the silver halide particles contained in the silver halide emulsion are flat platelike silver halide particles having >=5:1 average aspect ratio. The silver halide emulsion is color sensitized beforehand with a mixed sensitizing dye consisting of a sensitizing dye represented by formula I and at least one kind of sensitizing dye selected among sensitizing dyes represented by formulae II, III. It is preferable that the flat platelike silver halide particles have 0.6-5.0mum diameter and <=0.2mum thickness.
