摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the device in its suction air charging efficiency, by arranging such that while a surge tank is provided at its outer periphery with an extended passage with one end communicated to the internal space of surge tank and other end connected with a suction passage, a switch means is provided at a joint portion between the extended passage and the suction passage to make variable the length of suction passage. CONSTITUTION:A surge tank 13 is shaped such that a connecting tube 15 is provided at one side of substantially cylindrical casing 14 to form a suction device 12. The connecting tube portion 15 is connected with a suction port 18. The surge tank 13 is internally provided with a compartmentalizing substantially cylindrical wall 20 having an opening 19 defined through the side of surge tank where the connecting tube portion is provided, and thereby forming a surge tank space 21 inside the wall. A partition wall is provided inside the space between the casing 14 and the compartmentalizing wall 20 to extend the suction passage for thereby forming extended passages 27.... A switch valve 28 is provided at a joint portion between respective extended passages 27 and a connecting passage 17. The switch valve 28 is controlled to open and close by means of actuator 29 in response to the operating condition of engine, whereby making variable the length of suction passage.
