POURING DEVICE FOR CASTING

PURPOSE:To heat the molten metal in the cavity of a casting mold to a prescribed temp. and to cast satisfactorily a plate-shaped long object having a large area by disposing a conductor for electromagnetic induction heating and conducting electricity to the conductor thereby generating magnetic lines of force via the molding member for the casting mold from the mold cavity. CONSTITUTION:A conductor for electromagnetic induction heating wound into a coil shape is disposed on the outside circumference of a molding flask 3 made of a nonmagnetic material contg. molding sand 2 for forming a mold cavity 1 and the conductor 4 is connected via a transformer 5 to an AC power source 6. When magnetic lines of force are generated by conducting AC current to the conductor 4, many eddy currents are generated in the part intersected with the magnetic lines of force of the molten metal cast into the cavity 1 through the sprue 7 and act as the electric resistance to heat directly the molten metal up to a prescribed temp. The molten metal temp. is therefore controlled with good accuracy and the flowing length of the molten metal is increased.
