PURPOSE:To protect a motor from the outside by disposing a damping force switching motor in a space outside a hollow piston rod in a damper mount base. CONSTITUTION:An inner cylinder 3 is secured fixedly to the interior of an outer cylinder 2 of a buffer 1 through a rod guide 4, and a hollow piston rod 5 is inserted into the inner cylinder 3 from above through a seal ring 6 to fix a piston 7. Also, a damper mount base 24 is fastened by bolts 25, and in an inner base 26 is housed a controller 30 comprising a damping force switching motor 29 for pivoting an adjusting rod 19, a reduction gear, etc. and elastically connected to the upper end of the rod 5 through a spring 31. Thus, the motor can be effectively protected from the outside to improve its durability while utilizing effectively a space. |
