PURPOSE:To obtain a panel with high reliability by providing a column-like metal having a melting point lower than a sealing temperature of the panel, between a front substrate and a rear substrate. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode is provided on a glass plate 1 and Zinc 11 of column-like shape is provided at the corner of a portion surrounded by frit glass 10, and a front substrate is formed by burning the frit glass 10. An electrode for discharging is formed on a glass plate 2 and a film of dielectric is provided thereon to complete a rear substrate. Paint containing organic magnesium is blown to the front substrate and the rear substrate and is dried. And these assembled substrates are sealed in a belt furnace and Ne gas is charged into a discharging gap. Since there is the gap between the substrate and th frit glass by providing the zinc, cracked gas generated in the decomposition reaction of discharging auxilially material which is simultaneously carried out in the sealing is fully discharged to the outside of the panel and therefore it is possible to obtain a complete magnesium oxide layer without undercomposition. |
