<p>PURPOSE:To make print quality constant regardless of variation in temperature by controlling the shutter release time of an LCS printer according to ambient temperature. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal shutter selection part 3c selects individual liquid crystal shutters which constitute a liquid-crystal shutter 3b according to printer information D. Further, an electric field application part 3'd applies an electric field to said selected individual liquid crystal shutters for a specific time. The electric field application part 3'd is so controlled that the time when the electric field is applied to the liquid-crystal shutter 3b according to the ambient temperature of the liquid crystal shutter 3b obtained by the temperature detector 8 is short when said ambient temperature is high or long when low. The relation between the ambient temperature and the time of application of the electric field to the liquid crystal shutter 3b is obtained previously by experiment and stored as a table in the electric field application part 3'd. The rotating speed of a photosensitive drum and the feed speed of recording paper are controlled to control the opening time over a wide range.</p> |
