<p>PURPOSE:To shorten a picture processing time by retrieving bar codes only by the scanning of plural horizontal lines arranged in the direction from which the bar codes are projected in the vidual field of a camera if no bar code is included in the vidual field. CONSTITUTION:The vidual field 4 is scanned and entered in a picture memory to retrieve the presence or absence of a bar code 1. When no bar code 1 is detected on the whole surface of the field 4, only a part 41 of the field 4 is retrieved, and when the bar code 1 is entered into a part 41 of the field 4, the field 4 is scanned at an approximately proper time centering the bar code 1 on the field 4 while considering the car speed of an unmanned carrier car 2 and the field 4 is entered to the picture memory to retrieve the bar code 1. It is also available to observe the width of the bar code to retrieve the bar code 1 at a part 41 of the field 4. Since only a part 41 of the field 4 is retrieved if no bar code 1 is included in the field 4 at the retrieval of the bar code 1, the picture processing time can be shortened as compared to the whole retrieval of the field 4 and the difference between a car position at the time of picture input and that at the end of picture processing can be reduced.</p> |
