PURPOSE:To enhance stability of dispersion, redispersibility, and fixability in a liquid developer for electrostatic photography formed by dispersing a resin into a nonaqueous solvent by polymerizing a specified monomer in the presence of a specified dispersion stabilizer in an org. solvent to prepare a nonaqueous system dispersed resin. CONSTITUTION:A monomer soluble in an org. solvent, but insolubilized in an org. solvent by polymn., and selected from vinyl or allyl ester having 1-3C fatty acid optionally substd. at the alpha- or beta-position by methyl, such as vinyl acetate, and weighing >=80% is mixed with a dispersion stabilizing resin in a nonaqueous solvent, and polymerized with heating. As said dispersion stabilizer, at least one kind of resin obtained by polymerizing a monomer represented by formula I or II in which L is a >=10C aliphatic group; X is -COO-, -CONH-, or the like; Y is a group for connecting the functional group X with an atomic group of Z with C atom or atoms; Z is -COO-, -COOCH2, or the like; and Y1- Y5 are each H or alkyl. |
