N-methyl-S-methyl-N min -[2-(2-dimethylamino-methylthiazol-4-ylmethylthio)et h yl]isothiourea is a novel intermediate useful for the preparation of nizatidine, a pharmaceutically valuable H2-receptor inhibitor, by reaction with nitromethane.
