<p>PURPOSE:To improve the color reproducibility and the coding efficiency by expressing a chrominance signal with a coordinate system on a uniform color space to make reference to the probability of generation of a color on the color space and the correlativity of the chrominance signal between picture elements. CONSTITUTION:RGB, CMY and YIQ signals are inputted from input terminals 101-103 to a chrominance signal converter 110, they are converted into chrominance signals on the uniform color space and the result is stored in a buffer memory 120. The value of the chrominance signal subject to coding transmission is forecast by a chrominance signal forecast device 130 by utilizing the stored chrominance signals. The difference between the forecast chrominance signal and an actual chrominance signal obtained from the buffer 120 is calculated by a forecast error calculating device 140. Moreover, the order based on the probability of generation of a forecast error is obtained by utilizing the forecast chrominance. An order converter 160 converts the order from a forecast error order generator 150 depending on the difference between the calculated chrominance signals and the order is transmitted while being coded.</p> |
