PURPOSE:To dehydrate sludge with good efficiency, by performing press dehydration by adding a molded substance which is formed by molding a mixture of pulp and a cationic high-molecular flocculant under pressure so as to obtain definite density, to the solid of sludge. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of pulp comprising regenerated pulp and a cationic high-molecular flocculant comprising a cation modified substance of polyacrylamide is molded into a pellet form in a mold under pressure at an ambient temp. to obtain a press dehydration aid with density of 0.3g/cm<3> or more. This press dehydration aid is added to the solid of sludge in an amount of 0.5- 200wt% to form floc which is, in turn, dehydrated under pressure after the size of said floc is adjusted to 0.1-20mm.. Furthermore, the mixing ratio of the cationic high-molecular flocculant and pulp can be arbitrarily selected corresponding to the objective sludge but is usually 1:0.05-1,000 in a wt. ratio.
