PURPOSE:To prevent a disappearance of an original recorded picture where characters of a telop are inserted by recording information such as characters in some track of plural tracks where information made of characters relating to the recorded picture is desirably recorded and by projecting the characters only at the bottom of the screen on a reproduced screen. CONSTITUTION:An operator retrieves the position where a telop is subjected to be inserted viewing a reproduced picture on a monitor receiver. When the position is retrieved, a VTR is stopped at a head of the position. When, for instance, an post-recording switch AR is turned on at this time, the VTR is switched to a reproduction mode in all periods except plural horizontal sections at the end of each track, and a color video signal Sv is reproduced. When the operation is shifted to plural horizontal sections at the end of each track, it becomes a recording mode forcibly, and information of white characters prepared beforehand for these sections is recorded. |
