JACKET OF INFORMATION RECORDING DISC

PURPOSE:To keep lubricity on the surface of a disc for a long period by applying/impregnating lubricant to/into a sliding material prepared to protect the recording surface of a recording disc. CONSTITUTION:A disc 2 is covered with a jacket 1 made of paper or resin. An opening part 3 is formed on the inside of the jacket 1 and the disc 2 is allowed to contact with a head through the opening part 3 to record or reproduce a signal from the disc 2. The sliding materials 4 made of felt or non-woven fabric are adhered to the jacket side between the jacket 1 and the recording surfaces of the disc 2 and lubricant such as oil is applied or impregnated to/into the sliding materials 4. At the contact of the disc 2 with the sliding material 4, the lubricant on the disc side is prevented from absorption. On the other hand, the lubricant is supplied to a disc lacking the lubricant.
