The invention consists in making up various physical and functional structures by combination of a table and of seats whose struts which act as supports are an extension of the table. According to a preferred embodiment, the seat member 1, 2 is an open cube fitted with a bench 3 which has a double function: it permits a balanced seated posture and it can become, on turning it over, an additional table. The table member 6, 7 is designed to facilitate communication and to provide each subject with the optimum graphic space. The table-seat assembly is particularly suited to young children in nursery and primary school. <IMAGE>
