Process for removing weeds from maize fields, comprising the application of a herbicide of formula: <IMAGE> combined with the use of maize seeds treated beforehand with a compound of formula: <IMAGE> The compound with which the maize seeds are treated beforehand acts as an antidote for the herbicide employed. The seeds are used in a soil which has either been weeded or is to be weeded.
