摘要
1,130,517. Electrostatic precipitators. G. A. MESSEN-JASCHIN. 17 Jan., 1966 [18 Jan., 1965], No. 2052/66. Heading B2J. An electrostatic dust precipitator has a cylindrical ionizing electrode assembly 11, 16, 17 surrounding a cylindrical collector electrode system 18 and mounted coaxially therewith in a housing 19 so shaped that gas to be cleaned passes substantially radially through the ionizing electrode assembly and the collector electrode system and clean gas exits in an axial direction, means being provided to rotate the ionizing electrode assembly about the axis on which it is mounted and at least one brush, e.g. 32, being positioned to brush the whole length of the individual ionizing electrodes to clean them of any dust particles which may deposit directly on them. The ionizing electrode assembly comprises vertical ribs 11 of insulating material mounted between a circular plate 12 and a circular metal rail 15 and forming a cage on the outside of which ionizing electrodes 16, 17 are supported. The ionizing electrodes may consist of one or more relatively thin wires 16 at high voltage interleaved with one or more relatively thick wire 17 at earth potential, the wires being wound in helical grooves formed in the ribs 11, Fig. 3 (not shown). Alternatively, the wires may form horizontal closed rings which are electrically connected with one another in an alternate fashion. In either construction, the thick wire 17 may be replaced by a thin metal strip 40, Fig. 4 (not shown), disposed on edge in the grooves formed in the ribs II and having a fiat or slightly bowed profile. As shown, the electrode 16 is connected through a wire 36 to the rail 15 on which runs a contact roller 38 connected to a high voltage generator. The thick wire 17 is connected via a wire 39 to the plate 12 which is earthed through rollers 23 which run on a circular rail 24. The collector electrode system 18 rests on the plate 12 and consists of a disposable thick-walled tube of metal wool which can be removed through a collar 43 when a cover 42 is lifted off a casing 41 on the top wall 22 of casing 19. The plate 12 and hence the ionizing electrode assembly and the collector electrode system are rotated by a motor driven reduction gear 27 via gearing 28, 29. Alternatively, the collector electrode system may be stationary by being suspended from the collar 43. Coarse and fine brushes 31, 32, Fig. 1, are mounted along the length of the ionizing electrode assembly and are rotatably driven at a considerably higher speed than the latter by the reduction gear 27 via bevel gears 33. The housing 19 is in the shape of an involute, the gas to be cleaned entering at 20 and the clean gas leaving at 44. Guide vanes may be provided in the housing 19 to improve the radial flow of gas. The brushes are preferably separated from the flow space by baffles 34, 35 made of insulating material.
