PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality by obtaining a ratio of levels or level difference data between the m-th picture signal and the n-th picture signal formed sequentially from a solid-state image pickup element, comparing the value with a preset reference data and replacing a chrominance signal data into other chrominance signal data in response to the result of comparison to eliminate a false signal. CONSTITUTION:A chrominance signal processor 22 applies in advance chrominance signal processing to a picture element signal extracted sequentially from the solid-state image pickup element 21, a color difference signal is obtained, and the color difference signal is replaced with a control signal 27 by a chrominance signal data replacing device 26. In such a case, the chrominance signal data corresponds to the color difference signal. That is, sequential color difference signals A1-B1, A2-B1- are obtained from a picture element signal string of the solid-state image pickup element 21. When a signal change 31 of an object is produced between, e.g., picture elements A2 and B2, the color difference signal A2-B2 goes to a false signal. Then a color difference signal A3-B2 just after the A2-B2 is used in place of the said false signal A2-B2 so as to eliminate the false signal. |
