PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity for both positive and negative charge by providing a charge generating layer on a substrate, and a charge transfer layer thereon and further a charge generating layer to the uppermost part, and using a specified azulenium salt compd. to at least one of the charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer is provided on the substrate and a charge transfer layer is provided thereon. Further, an additional charge generating layer is provided to the uppermost layer, and an azulenium salt compd. expressed by the formula I, II, or III is used in at least one of the charge generating layers. In the formulas, R1-R7 are H, halogen, or a univlent org. group; arom. rings may be formed by at least one combination of R1 with R2, R3 with R4, R5 with R6, R6 with R7; A is an org. residue bonded with a double bond; Z<-> is an anionic residue. By forming a charge generating layer in this way to above and below a charge transfer layer and using an azulenium salt compd. as charge generating material in the charge generating layer,an electrophotographic sensitive body having sensitivity for both positive and negative charge and being suitable for laser beam printer because of high sensitivity in the visible region and infrared region is obtd. |
