1,010,709. Aircraft ejector seats. SVENSKA AEROPLAN A.B. Dec. 13, 1963 [Dec. 13, 1962], No. 49325/63. Heading B7G. [Also in Division F3] A rocket propelling device attached to an ejector seat comprises an igniter 10, a casing 1 containing a pile 7 of solid-propellant plate-like elements 8 spaced from each other, and outlet means 5 positioned such that the combustion gases emerge through the outlets in a direction parallel to the direction of flow in the passages 9 between the propellent elements 8. When the pilot fires a gun 35 the ejector seat is lifted and passes a point where the explosion gases from the gun are able to pass via tubes 39 into the igniter 10 which ignites the propellant 8 so that combustion gases emerging from nozzle outlets 5 continue the raising of the ejector seat. |
