PURPOSE:To perform the reproduction of an image of high quality which has a wide band and small crosstalk by recording two pieces of information at the inner and outer peripheries of a recording medium and reading them optically with two laser light beams. CONSTITUTION:For example, when information is an image signal, a chromaticity signal is recorded at the inner peripheral side 9 of the recording medium 8 and a luminance signal is recorded at the outer peripheral side 10; and those are read out by two pickups 11 and 22. The pickups 11 and 22 consist of laser light sources 12 and 17, polarization beam splitters 13 and 18, quarter- wavelength plates 14 and 19, objective lenses 15 and 20, and photodiodes 16 and 21 for detection. Consequently, the signal band is widened double, an image of high quality is obtained, and the rotating speed is reduced to half, thereby easily obtaining the image of high quality. |
