PURPOSE:To prevent the captioned valve rod from being worn by applying ceramics thereto by coating a lower end inner surface of the valve rod guide with ceramics, while forming a non-contact part with a cylinder head on a lower end outer surface. CONSTITUTION:A valve rod guide 3 made for example of pearlite cast iron is forcedly inserted into a cyliner head 1 of an internal combustion engine, for example, a vessel diesel engine, and a large diameter part 4 is formed on the upper end part of the cylinder head for preventing the valve rod guide from being slipping out. Thereupon, ceramic coatings 5, 6 are applied on the upper and lower ends of the valve rod guide 3, and relief grooves 7, 8 are respectively formed in the inner surfaces of the valve rod guide in the vicinity of the coatings 5, 6 for forming a lubricating oil reservoir. Furthermore, the lower end outer surface of the valve rod guide 3 is made a small diameter part 9 for forming a space 10 between the small diameter part and the cylinder head 1. Hereby, ceramics can be applied to the valve rod guide 3 serving to an introduction member, whereby the engine rod guide 3 can be prevented from being worn. |
