PURPOSE:To judge the propriety of the titled head simply, easily in a short time by flowing a low frequency current signal biased to a magnetic head to be checked to detect an infection point of the inductance of the head. CONSTITUTION:The saturating characteristic of the head is represented by an inflection point VAR between an unsaturated region HR and a saturated region HS, the inflection point is detected to select the head. In this case, since the inductance L is changed suddenly at the inflection point, it is detected. That is, a biased low frequency signal iR flows to the head 10 to measure the inductance L. Then the bias LHF is varied to detect the inflection point of the inductance L and when the bias value iHFS giving the inflection point is larger than the propriety criterion, it is judged as an acceptable head. Thus, the propriety is judged simply in a short time without recording and reproduction. |
