PURPOSE:To enable the easy grasping of the depth and horizontal distance of a side looking sonar display image displayed in an overhead view, by displaying the display images of side looking sonar and scanning sonar on a common display picture in contrast with each other. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic waves with predetermined outputs, pulse widths and frequencies are emitted into water from transmitter receivers 1, 3, 4 through a transmission amplifier 28. Detection signals reflected from the matter in water are received by the transmitter receivers 1, 3, 4 to be outputted after detected through a receiving amplifier group 5 and the receiving signals are displayed on the display device 19 through signal memories 8, 48 and D/A converters 16, 17, 18. In this case, the image by side looking sonar is displayed to the upper part of a picture and the image by scanning sonar is displayed on the lower part of the picture. By this method, the depth and horizontal distance of the side looking sonar in the display of an overhead view can be easily grasped. |
