The car train serves to convey passenger vehicles together with their occupants. The wagons of the car train are approximately 5.50 metres wide so that passenger vehicles of a length of up to 5 metres can drive on and off sideways and can be conveyed standing transversely to the direction of travel. As a result, the loading and unloading of the car train does not last longer than with a passenger train. The passenger vehicles can be driven off and on at any desired stopping point. The associated rails have a track width of approximately 4 metres.
