发明名称 METHOD OF MANUFACTURING NEGATIVE ELECTRODE ZINC POWDER FOR ALKALINE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the complicated processes of crushing, washing and drying etc. by melting zinc or zinc alloy and mercury, and carrying out the hardening of zinc during the melting by spraying. CONSTITUTION:An electrozinc ingot and metal mercury are charged in a melting furnace, and are sealed and heated to make the molten zinc which is mixed with mercury and zinc. The molten zinc is transferred to another heating furnace which has a fine hole in the bottom, and it is dropped with a thin stream from the fine hole of a furnace bottom portion in a workroom which is interrupted and closed from the outside at the same time the molten zinc is sprayed by exposing a high speed air jet to make negative electrode zinc powder. The oxygen density in the air is set to the range of 1vol% to 0.01% to reduce the generation of mercury oxide in the spraying process. It is possible to safely carry out the work without scattering mercury vapor to the outside.
