PURPOSE:To enable recording and printing with automatic determination of printing positions, by receiving a scale printing position data from a scale position generation means to generate a printing position data as scale information according to the printing position given as division scale set for a scale information setting section. CONSTITUTION:The left end position, the right end position and the number of scale lines of respective division scales are set with a keyboard 12 on scale setting sections 24-1-24-n at record control section 16 and likewise, the scale lower limit value, scale upper limit value, scale medium value and scale unit of the respective division scales are set on the scale information setting sections 30-1-30-n. A scale information position generating section 31 computes the printing positions for set values at each setting position 30 according to scale printing position data from a data synthesizing section 23 based on a set value of each setting section 24 to generate a scale information printing position data to be memorized. A thermal head 10 is driven according to the data of a scale printing position data memory section 27 for storing data of a synthesizer section 23 and the generating section 31. Thus, printing for the division scale is automatically performed together with the printing for scale information.
