PURPOSE:To measure easily and exactly slurry concentration by putting the slurry to be measured into a non-magnetic hollow cylindrical body on which a coil is wound, impressing an AC voltage of a specified frequency thereto so as to interfere with the slurry and converting the impedance change which follows up proportionally the slurry concn. to a voltage. CONSTITUTION:The coil 12 of a required number of turns is wound on the outside periphery of the non-magnetic hollow vessel 10 consisting of glass, etc. and the slurry to be measured is put therein. The AC voltage of the specified frequency of, for example, 144kHz is impressed to the coil by an oscillator 16 and the impedance of the coil 12 is taken out as a voltage change by an impedance-voltage converter 18. The voltage change is received by the X-axis side of an X-Y recorder. On the other hand, the frequency of the oscillator 16 is taken out as the voltage change by a frequency- voltage converter 22 and is received by the Y-axis side of the recorder 20. The slurry concn. in the sample slurry is easily and exactly measured by using the relational graph obtd. by the relation between the slurry concn. obtd. in the above-mentioned manner and the voltage from the known slurry concn. On-line measurement is also possible by measuring similarly the slurry flowing in a hollow pipe in place of the beaker which is the vessel 10. |
