PURPOSE:To stabilize focus searching operation without any influence of the stationary frictional force of an actuator for a pickup element by performing the focus searching operation while moving the actuator in a tracking direction. CONSTITUTION:Switches 18 and 31 are on at the start of the focus searching operation. At this time, the integral output of a focus search signal Sa is supplied to a focusing coil 16 a little bit after its differential output is supplied to a tracking coil 24 through the operation of a delay circuit 27. Consequently, the actuator moves in the tracking direction at a state in which the focus searching operation is carried out actually. Consequently, the focus searching operation is performed in a state wherein no stationary frictional force operates on the actuator, and the focus searching operation is performed stably. |
