PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity to radiation by providing a silver halide emulsion layer contg. an org. luminous body and an emulsion composed by dispersing finely a high boiling oily compd. which dissolves the luminous body into an aq. medium, etc. on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The radiation sensitive silver halide emulsion layer is formed on the substrate and a layer is provided thereon adjacently thereto, by which a radiation sensitive silver halide material is formed. The org. luminous body and the emulsion formed by dispersing finely the high boiling oily compd. which dissolves said luminous body into the aq. medium are incorporated into at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer and the layer adjacent thereto. The org. luminous body is an org. compd. which emits fluorescence when irradiated with radiation and includes stilbene, imidazole, thiazole and oxazole. The compd. having >=190 deg.C b.p. under atmospheric pressure is preferable as the high boiling oily compd. to be dispersed into the aq. medium. |
