PURPOSE:To make possible the high stabilization of a silver image by incorporating a layer contg. a cation high-polymer electrolyte having no iodine ion as a paired ion between a base and emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one layer contg. the catio high-polymer electrolyte having no iodine ion as a paired ion is incorporated between the base and the emulsion layer. The cation high-polymer electrolyte is quaternary ammonium, sulfonium and phosphonium polymers and more preferably quaternary ammonium and phosphonium polymer. The cation high-polymer electrolyte is dispersed and incorporated into a suitable protective colloid material, for example, gelatin or agar if the cation high-polymer electrolyte using the polymer latex expressed by the formula in order to decrease the adverse influence on the silver halide emulsion layer prior to a developing process is an aq. polymer latex. Then a photographic print maintains the initial silver image with substantially no discoloration and color fading even if the print is preserved for a long period of time. |
