PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal head with uniform temperature distribution of its heat generating resistors, with long life and a good quality of printing by making the widths at turns of the meander of a meandering shaped heat generating resistors, and widths at the borders with the electrodes in its straight portions larger than the width of the straight portions. CONSTITUTION:A meander shaped heat generating resistor 2 which has turns is provided by etching on a substrate 1 made of aluminum and etc., using, for instance, Ta2N etc. in a following manner: the widths at the turns of the meander, and the widths at borders with the electrodes of the electrode side in the straight portions near the both ends of the meander are designed to be larger than the widths at the straight portions other than the border areas as stated above. |
