PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of viscosity control by applying a periodic temp. change to a sample oil, measuring the viscosity at a few points of the temp. change thereof, calculating automatically the viscosity characteristic and calculating automatically the viscosity of a fluid oil at the required temp. in accordance with the calculated viscosity characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger 4 changes periodically in a wave-like manner the temp. of the sample oil delivered from a pump 8 with the temp. T4 of the sample oil led out of a fluid oil line 1 as a center as a refrigerant and heat medium are periodically and alternately fed to a pipe 12 in accordance with the data inputted preliminarily to a calculator 6. A viscosimeter 5 measures the viscosity at the 2 or 3 points of the high temp. part T1, low temp. part T2 or intermediate T3 of the sample oil by the command from the calculator 6. The measured values are transmitted to th calculator 6. The respective constants are calculated from the absolute viscosities at the T1, T2, T3 and the absolute temp. T by the specific equation in the calculator 6. The absolute viscosity at the required temp. is calculated by the respective calculated constants and the absolute temp. of the temp. specified by JIS at which the viscosity of the sample oil is required to be obtd. |
