PURPOSE:To enhance the transmitting characteristic of a vibration transmitting mechanism and to prevent the characteristic from lowering even if the vibration transmitting mechanism is curved in use so that restrictions in use may be reduced and as well the mechanism may be used for torque transmission, by forming the vibration transmitting mechanism with bundles of grouped thin wires. CONSTITUTION:A vibration transmitting member A is formed such that thin wires made of metal or a predetermined material other than metal, having a diameter of about 0.03 to 2 mm are grouped into one bundle, that is, a plurality or several hundreds of thin wires having a length which is an integer number times as long as the one-half of wave length of ultrasonic waves or one-half of the wave length of ultrasonic waves, are grouped into two to five bundles which are then knitted together. Thus, even if strong vibration energy may be transmitted, the phenomenon of rolling vibration may hardly occures since the bundles of wires are entangled in the reversely tiwisting direction to bind the bundles of wires with each other, and further, phase differences in vibrational displacement between the bundles of wires or between thin wires in the vicinity of contact points therebetween may be made to be less, and therefore, the attenuation of longitudinal vibration is small since a relative motion between the bundles of thin wires upon pitching vibration is small. |
