PURPOSE:To convert fine variation in CCD output into a binary value by latching a comparator output in a flip-flop while evading a CCD spike noise and feeding it back positively as a binary threshold value. CONSTITUTION:The output of a comparator 8 is connected to the D input terminal of the D type flip-flop 20, whose output is fed back positively to the positive input terminal of the comparator 8. The driving (a) clock 14 of a CCD10 rises sufficiently after a spike noise appears in the output wave 21 of the CCD10. The D type flip-flop 20, therefore, latches the output of the comparator 8 at the rising of the (a) clock. Then, its output is fed back positively to eliminate the inversion of a binary-coded output due to a spike noise generated during movement from the 2nd picture element to the 3rd picture element. Consequently, even if the output wave of the CCD10 varies finely from the current picture element to the next picture element, it is converted into a binary signal without being absorbed by an input filter 1.
