PURPOSE:To efficiently remove excretion sludge or sand, by providing not only a freely revolvable water absorbing material at a position immersed in the excretion in a tank but also a dehydration jig for squeezing excretion from the water absorbing material. CONSTITUTION:A tank 2 storing excretion from a supply line 1 is provided and an excretion recover apparatus A equipped with a pair of drive rolls 3a, 3b and a recovery device 4 is arranged above the tank 2 and an endless belt like water absorbing material 5 is provided so that the upper part thereof is held in a freely revolvable manner by the drive rolls 3a, 3b and the lower part thereof is immersed in the excretion in the tank 2. Scrapers 8a, 8b acting on the rising side of the water absorbing material 5 are provided so that excretion sludge or sand is scraped off in the tank from the water absorbing material 5 even if adhered to said material 5.
