PURPOSE:To reduce the total amount of fluxes used as well as to enhance the dephosphorizing capacity of oxygen and to inhibit decarburization by combinedly using a CaO-base flux and an iron oxide-base flux and blowing oxygen. CONSTITUTION:The surface of molten pig iron is covered with a CaO-base flux contg. a slagging property improver in the early stage of pretreatment. While iron oxide-base flux powder is blown into the molten pig iron with a carrier gas, oxygen is blown on the surface of the molten pig iron. At this time,the dephosphorizing capacity of oxygen is enhanced by the flux added to the surface of the molten pig iron and the decarburization of the molten pig iron is inhibited. Thus, the molten pig iron is effectively pretreated. |
