PURPOSE:To enable die cast molding to be performed and prevent a leak of water, by forming water jackets and water passages, crossing with the water jackets, in end surfaces of a cylinder block while connecting a waterway pipe with holes formed crossing with the water passages. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder block 1, forming in its left and right end surfaces 2, 3 connecting cylinder heads, here opens cylinders 4, 5 to be formed from left and right outsides. While the cylinder block opens water jackets 6, 7 to be formed from the left and right outsides similarly along the cylinders 4, 5. On the other hand, the cylinder block 1, providing in its bottom flanges 1a mounting an oil pan 17, forms water passages 8, 9, crossing with the water jackets 6, 7, in bosses 1b formed in the upper of the flanges 1a. While the boss parts 1b provide pipe connection holes 12, 13 to be drilled, and a waterway pipe 14 is connected between these holes. This waterway pipe 14, being formed by a pipe part 14a and a bellows part 14b, is extensibly and contractibly formed in the lengthwise direction. |
