[Also in Division F2] A rolling head for finishing bores, comprises a body 2, Figs. 1-2 (not shown), having 3 pairs of radial bores 4, 5 connected to a chamber 6, and hydraulic pistons 9, 10 slidable in the bores, to which are rotatably connected rollers 13. The centre line of each bore 5 is offset angularly with its adjacent bore 4, to provide a lead for the roller. In a modification, the bores 4, 5 are in separate members 20, 23, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), so that the lead can be varied by relative angular adjustment between these members. |
