PURPOSE:To facilitate joint positioning by electron beam welding the inner and outer rings of a diaphragm and the holding plates from the steam inlet side or effluence side and face-jointing the nonwelded center part. CONSTITUTION:The inner and outer rings 14 and 15 of a diaphragm and the holding plates 11 and 12 are joined and fixed in the closely attached state through the electron beam welding from the steam inflow side A or the effluence side B. In the nonwelded part 17 at the center part in the axial direction, the outer surface of the sealing welded part 13 of each holding plate 11, 12 is formed to have the equal plane to each holding plate 11, 12 and face joining in closely attached state is performed. Therefore, the positioning for the joint between the holding plates and the inner and outer rings of the diaphragm can be easily executed.
