PURPOSE:To purify efficiently low-concn. org. sewage by mixing solid moldings consisting of active humus and a metal with zeolite and using the mixture for purification. CONSTITUTION:Active humus contg. silica gel, lignin, etc., necessary for forming a solid and enlarging agglomerates and a metal (e.g., ion powder) or metallic salts generating oxygen by the reaction with the active humus are formed into platy, honeycomb, pellety or spherical moldings. A mixture of large and small massive porous zeolite having adsorptive power and releasing fine suspensible small pieces from the surface is mixed into the moldings to form an agent for purifying low-concn. org. sewage. Namely, org. sewage and air bubbles are brought into contact with the surface of the purifying agent and the massive zeolite and the org. material adsorbed on the surface of the suspensible fine pieces released from the zeolite surface is oxidized on the surface by the oxygen generated on the surface of the purifying agent, eluted fluvo acid and iron hydroxide which has been converted after elution. Consequently, sedimentary SS and gaseous nitrogen, etc., are formed and discharged to the outside of the system. Water is thus purified.
