PURPOSE:To obtain a reproducing system possible for improving the recording density and transfer speed independently of the DC component of a reproduced waveform by splitting reflected light from a photomagnetic medium in the radial direction of the same photomagnetic medium, passing the light through a polarized light detecting element respectively and using each differential value as a reproducing signal. CONSTITUTION:The luminous flux subjected to linearly polarization is irradiated on a track of an photomagnetic medium 7 and its reflected light is split into two in the radial direction by mirrors 31a, 31b. The luminous flux subject to two divisions is given to a photomagnetic signal detectors 17, 35 comprising respectively polarized face detection elements 14, 32 and photodetectors 16, 34, from which information recorded magnetic on the optomagnetic medium 7 is reproduced. Outputs 25, 25' are inputted to a differential amplifier 36, from which a reproducing signal waveform 37 not including the DC component is obtained. In the reproducing system, it is not required to device that the reproducing output includes no DC component and since the minimum bit length is prolonged, the recording density and transfer speed are improved.
