PURPOSE:To increase economical efficiency and reliability of operation by arranging a means to control cell voltage in an allowable limit. CONSTITUTION:A voltage control instruction means 30 sets an control target value Va by a cell voltage detecting value VC received from a cell voltage detecting means 10. The target to the cell voltage VC is set to the allowable upper limit against the voltage of an oxidizing agent electrode to be protected, for example, to 0.8V per unit cell. A cell voltage control means 40 receiving the control target value Va from the voltage control instruction means 30 consists of an actual value detecting means comprising current detectors 41, 42, a control circuit 50 and a current control means 60. The cell voltage control means 40 controls the cell voltage VC within the target value Va set with the voltage control instruction means 30. |
