PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for adjustment after the exchange of a battery, by connecting a capacitance element direct to a timepiece circuit at the exchange of batteries to permit the maintaining of the operation of the timepiece circuit for the time longer enough than that required for the exchange even if a battery is removed for the exchange. CONSTITUTION:When a battery B closed, switch circuits S1 and S2 are OFF while those S2, S5 and S6 ON. A voltage is supplied to a timepiece circuit T from a 1/2 voltage generation circuit G while a battery voltage is supplied to a display section DS as it is. On the other hand, a capacitor C1 is charged with a battery B. So, when the battery B is coming to expire so much as to make the time display at a display section DS hard to view at the battery B is replaced. Upon the removal of the battery B, the Switch S3 is turned as illustrated. The switches S1 and S4 are turned ON while those S2. S5 and S6 are turned OFF. With the switch S1 ON, a capacitor C1 is connected to the timepiece circuit T to be driven by a charged voltage. With the switch S5 OFF, the supply of current to the display section DS is interrupted and the display is erased.
