A method of making a wheel, particularly a vehicle wheel, of ductile metal comprises pressing a blank between coaxial punches 248, 264 to cause backward extrusion over the punches to produce a pair of cylindrical walls 72, 78 extending in opposite directions from a central web 80, the walls having integral longitudinally extending ribs 288, 290 which are in alignment in the opposite walls.
