PURPOSE:To provide excellent corrosion resistance free from the influence of environment by incorporating limited amounts of Nb and Ni to a Ti base. CONSTITUTION:The alloy has a composition consisting of, by weight, 1.0-50.0% Nb, 0.1-5.0% Ni and the balance essentially Ti and containing, if necessary, 0.1-5.0% Mo. In this way, when the Ti alloy is constituted by incorporating Nb as essential component and further adding Ni or Ni and Mo, it shows excellent corrosion resistance in a nonoxidizing acid solution and also shows sufficient corrosion resistance even in an oxidizing acid solution such as nitric acid, etc. Moreover, on further incorporation of 0.05-0.60% O into this alloy, the formation of Nb oxide passive film on the alloy surface can be stabilized to a greater extent.
