PURPOSE:To avoid getting a braking phenomenon as well as to meet the extent of four-wheel drivability, by setting a torque capacity in the hydraulic clutch of a transfer device in a way of dividing it into each range directly connected to a half-clutch state of an engine side clutch. CONSTITUTION:Driving force is directly transmitted to either of front and rear wheels via engine side clutch 1 and a transmistion 3, while it is transmitted to the other via a transfer device 5 having a hydraulic clutch 52. And, a directly connected state with a half-clutch of the engine side clutch 1 is detected. And, under a low-speed driving condition inclusive of a start at the half-clutch, the extent of torque capacity in the hydraulic clutch 52 is set according to a driving state on the basis of the torque capacity in the engine side clutch 1. Likewise, under the driving condition directly connected to the clutch, the torque capacity in the hydraulic clutch 52 is set within the range of the maximum torque capable of gripping the rear wheels and the minimum torque corresponding to an engine brake according to each driving state on the basis of engine torque.
